News for the Ramstein, Kaiserslautern, Landstuhl & Baumholder military communities in Germany There are many crucial elements that have an effect on a child’s education and the ability of the KMC Department of Defense Dependents Schools to have the right class sizes, the right number of teachers and the right amount of supplies.
Kicking off its 17th year, more than 45 million students, educators and parents celebrated Read Across America in schools stateside and on military installations overseas. Read Across America week ran from March 3 to 7 at KMC schools and child development centers.
Ramstein High School senior Kat Rosewitz is a normal, busy student, entering into talent shows and preparing for graduation. But this student also keeps busy with a much more unusual activity — she has a passion for historical re-enactments.
Twenty of the 34 years of its existence, the Advancement Via Individual Determination program has helped students at Ramstein Middle School prepare for college.

Since September, students from Kaiserslautern High School’s Robotics Club, also known as The Block Busters, have prepared for the first Tech Challenge Robotics Competition, which took place recently in Munich, Germany.
Historically, the U.S. Air Force Academy produces outstanding leaders. The school is one of the country’s prestigious military academies and prides itself on accepting only the best.
