With the weather getting warmer, everyone’s mind is turning to summer and the great opportunities for travel, food and family fun. While it is great to have time away from work and school, this break in learning often makes a huge impact on our youth in summer learning loss.
The Landstuhl Youth Center is abuzz with activity, as bus loads of teens and pre-teens bound through the doors of the facility located on Landstuhl Post.
On April 20, cadets from the GR-081st held their annual awards ceremony at the Ramstein Officers’ Club. The ceremony consisted of two parts: the formal dinner and the awards portion.
Thinking back, what were some of the things fifth-graders did in their spare time when you were that age? They most likely played sports or video games or just hung out with friends at the local park. For three local 11-year-olds, their focus was to perform random acts of kindness throughout the year.
The pressure is on for military students (and their parents) as we reach those final months of school and everything that comes with them — standardized tests, end-of-term papers and final exams.
After a full school year of preparing, advanced placement course exams will finally be distributed between Monday and May 17. Test taking can be stressful, so it’s important to be fully prepared and ready to tackle the exams.

To commemorate Earth Day April 22, and throughout the week, students at Vogelweh Elementary School participated in several environmentally friendly projects, including a school-wide cleanup project.
