The 2011 Department of Defense Dependents Schools Math Counts State
Competition was held March 24 at the Youth Activities Teen Center on
U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden. Mathletes from both DODDS Europe and DODDS
Pacific, representing schools in Ansbach, Aviano, Edgren, Hohenfels,
Lakenheath, Landstuhl, Mannheim, Osan, Ramstein, Robinson Barracks,
Rota, Ryukyu and SHAPE, competed in this year

Children of U.S. service members around the world will be honored
throughout the month for their contributions to their families

Sembach and Kaiserslautern Girl Scouts got together Feb. 22 to celebrate World Thinking Day.

The last American World War I veteran Frank Woodruff Buckles died Feb.
27. With him, a portal to history closed and access to valuable
information would never be spread to the newer generations.

Re-registration for the 2011/2012 school year will take place March 28
to April 1. All students are required to re-register every school year
to determine eligibility.

In an effort to support Read Across America and Kaiserslautern
Elementary School, several leaders from the KMC took part in the annual
Read Across America Day by reading to children at KES March 2.
