The Community College of the Air Force Spring Graduation Ceremony is at 2 p.m. today at the Ramstein Officers’ Club.
The 435th Mission Support Squadron Education Flight will host Lt. Col. Raymond W. Staats, CCAF commandant, as the guest speaker for more than 100 participating graduates.
“CCAF recently celebrated 36 years of service to the nation,” Colonel Staats said. “During this time, the college has awarded more than 317,000 degrees; more than 17,000 in the last year alone. These degrees are directly related to AFSCs and are designed to sharpen the leadership and management capabilities of the enlisted corps.”
The CCAF Class of April 2008 closed out with a record-breaking 8,394 degrees. Today, Ramstein celebrates awarding 469 FY08 degrees. Colonel Philip R. Andrews, 435th Mission Support Group commander, will be giving congratulatory remarks to graduates, family, friends, supervisors, first sergeants and commanders.
The Air Force Association will present 14 Pitsenbarger Awards/Scholarships at the ceremony. The AFA provides a one-time grant of $500 to selected top USAF enlisted personnel graduating from the CCAF who are pursuing a baccalaureate degree.
Ramstein’s Education Flight is also sponsoring an education fair at the officers’ club from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. The public is welcome to attend both events. The Ramstein Education Office will be minimally staffed from 7:30 to 11 a.m. and will be closed from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in support of the CCAF graduation and the education fair.
