The Community College of the Air Force is holding its graduation 2 p.m. April 27 at the Ramstein Officers’ Club. All are welcome to attend. A reception in honor of the more than 300 graduates will follow at the same location.
Master Sgt. Edward Shepard, 435th Mission Support Squadron first sergeant, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event. Chief Master Sgt. Bridget Howard, USAFE Equal Opportunity strategic advisor, will be the speaker. Diplomas will be presented by Col. Jamilyn Smyser, 435th Mission Support Group commander.
The 435th MSG also announces the Pitsenbarger Award Winners for Ramstein Air Base for Spring 2007. The $500 award is sponsored by the Aerospace Education Foundation and is competitively awarded to CCAF graduates who are continuing their education by working toward a bachelor’s degree. The award is presented in recognition of past education achievements, job performance, future educational goals and leadership ability, and is named in honor of Airman 1st Class William H. Pitsenbarger who was killed in Vietnam while working pararescue operations. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery.
