The Ramstein Tax Center will initiate a new tax assistance program this year. Following the “best practices” program from Incirlik Air Base, Ramstein’s Volunteer Income Tax Advisor program will focus on helping Airmen, Department of Defense civilians and their dependents learn to prepare and file their own tax returns.
In cooperation with “militaryonesource.com,” Ramstein will use their free tax filing software and their free tax advisor service – along with our volunteer Unit Tax Advisors to help people prepare their own tax returns.
But that does not mean that the Ramstein Tax Center will not need volunteers to implement this new program. The center relies on volunteer UTAs to assist others as they learn to prepare their tax returns. Volunteers will receive the latest and most current tax-preparation information straight from the IRS during a one-week training session Jan. 14 to 17 on Ramstein.
Armed with valuable tax knowledge, volunteers will be able to provide assistance to Airmen, DOD civilians and their dependents who need assistance in using the free tax filing software available at www.militaryonesource.com.
Anyone can volunteer – active duty, family member or civilian employees. For details, contact Staff Sgt. Bobbie Lynn Sherman at bobbielynn.sherman@ramstein.af.mil. (Courtesy of the Ramstein Tax Center)
