***image1***In recognition of World Children’s Day, which was Thursday, a
children’s fest will take place Saturday in the “Altstadt,” old town of
Kaiserslautern.

The Kaiserslautern youth department, the children’s protection
association and SOS children’s villages will provide an entertaining
program to lure children to the area between Stockhausplatz and Kaiser
Fountain.

A musical parade will go from Martinsplatz to Stockhausplatz, where
Lord Mayor Bernhard Deubig will officially open the event at noon.

The Minimax kindergarten will perform a medieval dance and the
Kunterbunt kindergarten will present a musical performance before
children take part in a variety of other activities.

The Theodor-Zink-Museum on Steinstrasse 48 will be the stage for a puppet theater performance at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Magician Boretti will present his magic skills and a clown lets miracles happen.
The food specialties offered in the museum are power burgers and power bars as well as refreshing beverages.

On Stockhausplatz, right next to the museum, those who like soccer can
try to score goals and those interested in sciences can be a professor
and participate in physical experiments. Also available here is a
tattoo and face painting corner.

In the Wadgasserhof, another museum across from the
Theodor-Zink-Museum, children can take part in games, painting and
crafting. Special activities offered will be tug-of-war and stone
throwing.

On Steinstrasse there will be a traffic course for scooters, other
activities, muffins and free tea. The children’s fest will continue
through 5 p.m.
