Stephanie Garner, nurse administrator for the Telehealth program at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, helps Kai Matzkanin, a first-grade student from Landstuhl Elementary Middle School, listen to his own heartbeat using telehealth tools May 13 at LRMC. Students from Melinda Stevens’ class visited the LRMC telehealth team to learn firsthand how technology helps health care providers treat patients all over the world. The children have been studying space recently and learning how astronauts receive health care when they are not on Earth. During their visit, the kids demonstrated telehealth with a doctor remotely looking in their ears and listening to their hearts beating.
