For the fifth year, the German-American Community Office participates in the Kaiserslautern Christmas market.
Thursday, from noon to 9 p.m., GACO employees present American music groups, singers and dancers at a stage on Schillerplatz,
“We try to present a nice entertaining program with musicians, dancers and singers, just like in previous years,” said Sissi Kösling from the GACO.
“Several performers from last year marked their calendars and called us early enough to make sure we would schedule them for this year’s Christmas market again.”
The U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern brings its Kiddie Train, which offers children free rides around the Christmas market. Santa Claus will make his appearance to welcome visitors and pass out sweets.
“The event helps German spectators to learn about the American Christmas spirit and hopefully promotes friendship between our nations,” said Ms. Kösling.
