***image1***Satellite Housing Office
A satellite housing office is now open on Ramstein in Bldg. 2410 (next
to Service Credit Union). Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday
through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays. The office will
be closed for training on the second Tuesday of each month from 7:30
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The office is also closed on German and
American holidays.
Inbound/outbound families will be able to drop off TLA paperwork, pick
up rental listings for off-base housing and receive full off-base
referral services at this office. Inbound families must still
visit the main housing office in Vogelweh upon arrival.
2006 Housing Survey
The deadline for the Housing Survey has been extended until 5
May. The survey is critical to the process in determining the
number of military family housing units we will be able to have in the
future. Accompanied and unaccompanied servicemembers and DOD
civilians can access the survey at http://www.airforcehousingsurvey.us/

***image2***Fire Hydrant Flow Testing
The 735th Civil Engineer Squadron is scheduled to perform required
annual fire hydrant flow testing in the Ramstein Military Family
Housing area from now until May 12. These tests are vital to
validate the ability of the base’s water system to support firefighting
operations in the housing area. It is important to note this
testing could dislodge rust particles in the water mains.
Although this is not a health concern, residents should run their water
faucets until they run clear and run clothes washing machines through a
rinse cycle to ensure that rust does not stain laundry. Flow
testing will continue in other areas of the base until approximately

Indoor Swimming Pool
Have you been wondering why the Lemon Lot relocated behind the Service
Credit Union, Bldg. 2410 (all cars relocated by the end of
April)? It’s to make room for a $11.4M indoor swimming pool,
which includes six 25-meter lanes, diving area, snack bar and
more! Environmental restoration of the site began this week in
preparation for construction start at the end of June. The pool
will open by the end of 2007.
