The American Red Cross will hold a review course for Adult, Child, Infant CPR/AED/First Aid from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday and a Community CPR/AED/First Aid course from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 26. Call the American Red Cross at 06371-47-2171 or e-mail redcross@ramstein.af.mil to pre-register.

The next monthly Commissioning Briefing will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Ramstein Bldg. 2120, Room 415. If interested in applying for the AF Academy, LEAD, SOAR, ROTC, AECP and/or OTS, this is the briefing to find out about eligibility criteria and application procedures. No appointment is necessary to attend.

Family Advocacy will host a Couples Communication Class in the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program. Come learn how to stop the damage that fighting can cause in your relationship. Class will be from 5 to 7 p.m. in Ramstein Bldg. 2121’s first floor conference room. Starting Thursday, classes will be every Thursday for six weeks. Spouse Tuition Assistance Program applications are due by close of business July 25 in Ramstein Bldg. 2120, Room 416, for classes for Term 1 (term dates of Aug. 18 to Oct. 25). STAP is open to command-sponsored spouses of active duty Air Force members. STAP will pay up to one-half of the unmet tuition cost, up to $300 per term. STAP can only be used with the contracted programs available through Central Texas College, Embry Riddle, University of Maryland, University of Oklahoma and University of Phoenix. Family Advocacy will host 1-2-3 Magic from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 5 and 19, and Sept. 9 in Bldg. 2121’s first floor conference room. This class will focus on effective discipline for children, age 2 to 12. Come join us for one session to learn how to lower your parenting stress. The USAG-K’s education center will conduct a Functional Academic Skills Training class from 8 a.m. to noon Monday to Aug. 11 at the Army Education Center on Rhine Ordnance Barracks. This course is for Soldiers who want to improve their General Technical scores for career advancement. For details and enrollment, call Gale Stewart at 493-2590.

The Employee Assistance Program will host Substance Abuse Training for all Department of Army civilians from 10 to 11 a.m. Aug. 21 and Sept. 11 at the Landstuhl Learning Center, Bldg. 3718. This counts as one hour of the three-hour annual requirement for Department of Army civilians.

The focus for the August class is recovery from addiction with the USAG-K’s Army Substance Abuse Program Clinical Director Charles Austin as the guest speaker. The September training is about support during recovery and a panel will be available for questions on this topic. The deadline to graduate in the fall for CCAF is Aug. 29. To be considered for the October class, CCAF must receive all documentation for degree candidate submissions on or before this date. Questions on CCAF should be directed to the Ramstein Education Center at 480-2032.

The Ramstein Education Center will run an Education Needs Assessment Survey in August and September. Everyone serviced by Ramstein in the KMC and surrounding areas is eligible to participate in the survey. This is an opportunity to share what you require to meet your personal and/or professional education goals. The survey is on the Air Force Virtual Education Center, under “Needs Assessment.”
