Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Services: If you are 18 and over, and are in an abusive relationship, advocates are available to support you. Advocacy services are available 24/7. During duty hours an advocate can be reached at 06371-46-2370 and after hours at 0173-628-4624. Advocates provide supportive services and can assist with safety planning, assessing for imminent harm, connecting with community resources and information on reporting options.

ASACS is a comprehensive program providing prevention education, and counseling services to 11- to 19-year-old ID card holders in the military community. ASACS’s mission is to provide comprehensive counseling services to adolescents and military families stationed OCONUS while enhancing military readiness and quality of life. In addition, ASACS offers Life Skills classes that promote health and personal development in the Department of Defense schools. We participate in supportive activities related to military life transitions as well as provide individual, group and family counseling services. ASACS counselors’ offices are located in Department of Defense schools for the convenience of military families. ASACS counseling services are completely confidential. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday; however flexible appointment times are available to meet the needs of military families.

MFLCs are licensed clinical providers who assist service members and their families with issues they may face throughout the cycle of deployment to reintegrating with their family and community. The MFLC Program provides short-term, non-medical counseling support for a range of issues including: relationships, crisis intervention, stress management, grief, occupational and other individual and family issues. Psycho-educational presentations focused on issues common to the military family including: reunion/reintegration, stress/coping, grief/loss and deployment/reintegration.

Meetings
German-American Stammtisch. The state initiative “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz!” and the town of Mehlingen will host the “German-American Stammtisch Mehlingen” on June 27, at 6 p.m. at the restaurant Hof Reitstube, Fröhnerhof 13c. The Stammtisch aims at facilitating the local German-American exchange and provides a recurring forum for Americans and locals to meet and get to know each other. Multicultural Spouses Club: Every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m. Join fellow spouses for a fun and interactive club that promotes diversity and networking. You will learn about different places and cultures while practicing English with fellow Spouses. Feel free to bring a dish to share with the group. Registration is required. Hello America: First Thursday of the month from 9 to 10 a.m. This class increases knowledge of American culture, customs, and language for all foreign-born spouses moving to the United States. This class will also increase knowledge of local customs, and traditions, as well as areas such as dining, shopping, local currency, health care differences, and conducting business. Class meets at Kleber Kaserne, Bldg.3210, Room 227.

Spouses Host Nation Orientation: Every 3rd Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Gain a better understanding of German culture and customs in this hands-on, community oriented program. Learn DOs and DON’Ts while experiencing the city of Kaiserslautern and navigating the bus system. Registration is required and must be made at least 1 day prior to the event.
