Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Services: If you are 18 and over, and are in an abusive relationship, advocates are available to support you.  Advocacy services are available 24/7.  During duty hours an advocate can be reached at 06371-46-2370 and after hours at 0173-628-4624.  Advocates provide supportive services and can assist with safety planning, assessing for imminent harm, connecting with community resources and information on reporting options. 


ASACS

Adolescent Support and Counseling Service is a comprehensive program providing prevention education, and counseling services to 11- to 19-year-old ID card holders in the military community. ASACS’s mission is to provide comprehensive counseling services to adolescents and military families stationed OCONUS while enhancing military readiness and quality of life. In addition, ASACS offers Life Skills classes that promote health and personal development in the Department of Defense schools. We participate in supportive activities related to military life transitions as well as provide individual, group and family counseling services. ASACS counselors’ offices are located in Department of Defense schools for the convenience of military families. ASACS counseling services are completely confidential. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday; however flexible appointment times are available to meet the needs of military families.


MEETINGS

The state initiative “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz!” meets for its German-American Stammtisch at 6.30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the Paradox restaurant in Ramstein-Miesenbach. The Stammtisch aims at facilitating the local German-American exchange and provides a great opportunity for Americans and locals to meet and get to know each other. The meeting is family friendly. Ramstein Toastmasters will meet every first, second and third Tuesday of the month from noon to 1 p.m. at the Ramstein South Chapel, Bldg. 2403. Individuals who want to develop their public speaking skills, are welcome to visit the meetings free of charge. Participants can prepare for board interviews, promotional ceremonies or leadership roles. Public speaking skills or aspirations can be advanced and enhanced. American Legion Post GR01 meets the first and third Wednesday of each month in the American Legion Building T-368 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks. ARMY COMMUNITY SERVICE (ACS)

Comfort Measures and Relaxation for Childbirth: 1st Wednesday of every month, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Take part in this interactive class! Bring a partner or friend, water and wear comfortable clothes. Topics include: massage and acupressure, positions for labor, use of tools such as the birth ball, meditation and focusing techniques, aroma-therapy, and hot and cold therapies. Class meets at Landstuhl Youth Center, Bldg. 93812.

Commanders and Senior leaders Training: 1st Thursday of every month, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This training is a mandatory requirement within 45 days of assumption of command for all commanders and senior enlisted advisors (E7-E9). Receive information on the Family Advocacy Program, the Exceptional Family Member Program, the Army Substance Abuse Program, and the Army Emergency Relief Program and how these programs can benefit Soldiers and their families. Conversational German: Gain a better understanding of the written and verbal German language! Two levels are offered: German Basics and Intermediate German. All course materials are provided free of charge. Classes run in 8-week semesters. Advance registration is required as these classes often fill up fast.

Dads 101: A Crash Course for New and Expecting Dads: 3rd Tuesday of every month, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Dads, this one is for you! This class includes topics such as: preparing for fatherhood, surviving the first few weeks, caring for your new baby, ways to keep your baby safe and more. Taught by an experienced dad and open to new and expecting dads. Locations vary.
