Baumholder Did you Know?

The USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Family & MWR is hosting a new program called “Baumholder Did you Know?” This exciting program is designed to help newcomers explore all the Family & MWR programs available in Baumholder, such as service centers, childcare, education, library, recreation, sports and fitness, hospitality, social and dining. Family & MWR Newcomer’s Scavenger Challenge

The USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Family & MWR is hosting a Newcomer’s Scavenger Challenge for the Baumholder Military Community. This exciting challenge is designed to help newcomers explore all Family & MWR programs available in Baumholder. Participants will receive a special passport listing all the programs, and can collect stamps at each facility visited to participate with a chance to win a $150 MWR Gift Card. Winter Solstice Party

Celebrate all the favorite winter holidays with the Winter Solstice Party Dec. 21 from 4 p.m. to midnight at the Pinsetter’s Pub, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks in Baumholder. This is a free event. Holiday Mulled Wine is the winter drink feature. This is the Pinsetter’s last holiday party before the New Year, and the only holiday party taking place on Smith Barracks. Boys and Girls Clubs of America Fine Arts Gala

The Baumholder Youth Center is hosting the free Annual Boys and Girls Clubs of America Fine Arts Gala Jan. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks in Baumholder. This event is for all ages and is open to all community members. Registration is not required. This event will showcase the fine arts and photography of youth members from the Baumholder community school age and teen programs from the past year. There will be light refreshments served, and attendees will be able to walk the Gala area and view the artwork. For more information, visit baumholder.armymwr.com.

USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Unit Level Volleyball Season

Rheinland-Pfalz Intramural Sports Program announces the Unit Level Volleyball League Season for the Baumholder and Kaiserslautern communities from Feb. 10 to March 13. Registration is from Jan. 2 to Jan. 31. Kaiserslautern games will be played at the Kleber Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 3235 on Kleber Kaserne. Baumholder matches will be played at the Hall of Champions Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks. Open to all ARMY active-duty members, Family members/DOD civilians and ID card holders, who are 18 and older and not eligible for high school or CYS programs, are eligible to participate. Disney Beauty and the Beast Jr.

The Award-Winning KMC Onstage presents Disney Beauty and the Beast Jr. Dec. 13 to 15 at the KMC Onstage Studio, Kaiserslautern Community Activity Center, Bldg. 3109 on Daenner Kaserne. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. “Be our guest” for this “tale as old as time”! Bring the whole family to celebrate our holiday musical presented by our talented KMC Onstage Youth! Late Night Basketball and Volleyball

Basketball and Volleyball players will have a chance to play Late Night Basketball and Volleyball from Dec. 13 to Feb. 7 at the Hall of Champions Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barrack. Both Basketball and Volleyball play will be from 8 to midnight. Late Night Basketball is Dec. 13, Jan. 10 and Jan. 31. Volleyball action will be Jan. 24 and Feb. 7. American Sign Language for Beginners

The Landstuhl Library is hosting an American Sign Language for Beginners sessions Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. at the library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post. Adult and young adult beginners are welcome. Please register by emailing landstuhllibrary@army.mil.

Java Café Holiday Drink Special

Java Cafés in Bldg. 8661 on Smith Barracks in Baumholder, Bldg. 3774 on Landstuhl Post and Bldg. 273 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks are serving holiday drink specials now until Jan. 6. SKIES Gymnastics

Enrollment is now open for SKIES Unlimited gymnastics for ages 1 to 18 in the Kaiserslautern Community. SKIES One-Day Soccer Camps

SKIES Unlimited is offering a Fall Indoor Soccer Camp for youth ages 2 to 16 on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Landstuhl Youth Center Gym, Bldg. 93812 on Landstuhl Post. Open to all ID card holders from all branches of service. All participants must be registered with Army MWR Child and Youth Services. Youth must be registered in advance to participate. RECURRING EVENTS

Weekly Yoga Classes-Tuesday & Thursday

Two new yoga classes are now available in the Baumholder community. Every Tuesday, 6:30 -7:45 p.m., enjoy Soft & Slow Yoga, and every Thursday, 6:30-7:45 p.m., Yoga Balance. Landstuhl Library Baby Brillance Storytime

Baby Brilliance Storytimes returns in September and will be held every Thursday of the month starting at 11 a.m. at the Landstuhl Library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post.  This is a fun storytime for ages birth to 18 months with songs, fingerplays and more. Strikers Bowling Center Duty Bowl & Two for Tuesday

Duty Bowl for service members in uniform is only $5 per hour and per lane every day at the Strikers Bowling Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks in Baumholder. All Soldiers “duty” bowling must be in duty uniform.  Two for Tuesday special will be $2 per game and $2 shoe rentals from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.  every Tuesday. Red Pin Bowling

Red Pin Bowling happens every Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. at the Strikers Bowling Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks in Baumholder.  Bowlers who make a strike while the head pin is red, will receive a free game coupon. Full Nerd Friday

The time has come for “Revenge of the Nerds” every Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Baumholder Warrior Zone, Bldg. 8218 on Smith Barracks.  This is a free event for 18 and older, and registration is not required.
