Baumholder Did you Know?

The USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Family & MWR is hosting a new program called “Baumholder Did you Know?” This exciting program is designed to help newcomers explore all the Family & MWR programs available in Baumholder, such as service centers, childcare, education, library, recreation, sports and fitness, hospitality, social and dining. Holiday Bazaar

The Holiday Bazaar is a shopper’s paradise for all your shopping needs.  Join Family & MWR for the Holiday Bazaar from Friday, Nov. 1 to Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Family & MWR Special Events Center, Bldg. 237 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks. Hours of shopping are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. There will be a multitude of vendors offering everything from pottery, antiques, wine, cheese, jewelry, and so much more. All prices in U.S. dollars, with only debit and credit cards accepted. Open to U.S. ID cardholders only. Strollers are welcome. Take advantage of this perfect opportunity to find your unique European gifts for friends and family or for yourself. Brooklyn & Beyond Comedy Show (+Karaoke after)

Dwayne Perkins set to headline the Brooklyn & Beyond Comedy Show Nov. 15 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Kazabra Club, Bldg. 2057 on Vogelweh. The show will also feature Žana Fejzić and Zuva Martens. Doors open at 7 p.m., tickets are $12 at the door. Local Comedian Erin Crouch will host the show. Stay for the fun as karaoke happens after the show until 1 a.m. The Kazabra Club will be serving up your favorite drinks, and Shawingz is open until 9 p.m. for chicken wings and burgers, ensuring that your evening is as enjoyable as it is hilarious. Community Baby Fair

The Army Community Service Family Advocacy & New Parent Support Program is hosting a free Community Baby Fair Thursday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. This annual Community Baby Fair is to celebrate Military Family Month, held each year in November by president proclamation. The event is open to DOD ID card holders. This event provides education and community resource information to parents and expecting parents in Baumholder and Kaiserslautern communities. The event is useful for providing education on parenting and valuable resources available to these families. The baby fair will include games, educational classes, food and fun. A variety of representatives from base resources in the community will provide useful services to parents and parents-to-be. The theme for this year’s event is carnival. Military Libraries Week

USAG Rheinland-Pflaz libraries at Baumholder, Kleber and Landstuhl will be in the spotlight during Military Libraries Week, November 10-16. This year’s theme is “Leaders are Readers” and will highlight the crucial role libraries play in providing academic and social support to our military community. Come out and show your support. Take a few minutes during your lunch break to relax and read. Bring the kids out for Storytime or game night. Sign up for a new account to borrow a book, movie, or game during Military Libraries Week and receive library swag to take home (while supplies last).

Thanksgiving Family Feast

Landstuhl Youth Center is hosting our annual Thanksgiving Family Feast for families and youth in grades 6-12, who are registered with the youth center, on Nov. 22 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Landstuhl Youth Center, Bldg. 93812 on Landstuhl Post. Reservations must be made by Nov. 15, and can be made by calling the youth center at 06371-86-8658 or 486-8658, emailing us at rlplyc@army.mil, or in person at the youth center. 5K Turkey Trot Costume Fun Run

Community members can show their spirit of Thanksgiving by dressing up as their favorite Thanksgiving-related character such as a turkey or pilgrim at the 5K Turkey Trot Costume Fun Run Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Family and MWR Special Events Center, Bldg. 237 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with the run starting at 10 a.m. Cost is $8 per person. Children under 12 are free.  Runners can prepay on the WebTrac link on kaiserslautern.armymwr.com or on the day of the run during registration. Payment must be with a credit card. Participants can walk or run. Dogs, strollers and families are welcome. The first male, female and a child under 12 crossing the finish line will get a frozen turkey. SKIES One-Day Soccer Camps

SKIES Unlimited is offering a Fall Indoor Soccer Camp for youth ages 2 to 16 on Saturday, Nov. 23, and again on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Landstuhl Youth Center Gym, Bldg. 93812 on Landstuhl Post. Open to all ID card holders from all branches of service.  All participants must be registered with Army MWR Child and Youth Services. Youth must be registered in advance to participate. The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Nighttime Auditions

The Award-Winning KMC Onstage is holding auditions for The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Nighttime Auditions Nov. 25 and 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kaiserslautern Community Activity Center, Bldg. 3109 on Daenner Kaserne.  No experience necessary. The audition will include cold reading from the script. Based on the bestselling book, this story is part mystery, part family drama, told through the eyes of Christopher, an autistic teen who will stop at nothing to find the truth. Open to ages 14 and older. They will be casting for multiple male and female roles: three women, one man, one teen boy, and ensemble of all ages. Thanks-for-Bowling

The Strikers Bowling Center will have a Thanks-for Bowling special for all ages Nov. 29 from noon to 10 p.m., and Nov. 30 from 2 to 10 p.m. at the bowling center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks in Baumholder. Volunteer Youth Sports Coaches

Volunteer youth sports coaches are needed for the Baumholder Youth Sports winter season. Coaches are needed for basketball, ages 5 to 15, and cheer, ages 5 to 15. Benefits include: Volunteer hours toward awards and promotion, own children enrolled receive up to 100% discount on sports  fee, earn signature Baumholder sports swag gear, and have a positive impact on community and the mission. International Games Month

The Baumholder Library celebrates International Games Month during November at the library, Bldg. 8332 on Smith Barracks. The library will host a variety of events including family ‘hygge’ nights with board games and puzzles, a Pictionary tournament, and a Pixel Builders Workshop! Auto Skills Monthly Special

Take part in the Winter Tire Swap Special being offered now until Oct. 31 at the following participating Auto Skills Centers: Pulaski, Landstuhl, Baumholder. Winter Safety Check

Baumholder and Kaiserslautern community members can get their vehicles ready for the colder months at the free winter safety checks Friday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Baumholder Auto Skills Center, Bldg. 8438 on Smith Barracks, and Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pulaski Auto Skills Center, Bldg. 2859 on Pulaski Barracks. Professionals will check to ensure customers’ POV’s are up to safety standards.  The trained staff will be on-hand to inspect tires (condition and air pressure), fluid levels and conditions, wiper blade condition and more. Staff will also explain the German road rules for winter tires and help to prepare winter emergency kits and selling already prepared kits. Pickleball Tournament

The Sembach Physical Fitness Center is hosting a Pickleball Tournament Friday, Oct. 18 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the fitness center, Bldg. 105 on Sembach Kaserne. Registration Fee is  $10 per team. Reserve by Friday, Oct. 4. Registration is available at Sembach, Kleber, ROB, Landstuhl and Mountaineer PFCs.  Team consists of two players, who are ages 18 and older.
