The County Music Association’s brass orchestra opens this year’s concert season Sunday at the Volkspark in Kaiserslautern. Every second Sunday through September, concerts presented by different bands take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free.
“More than 7,000 visitors enjoyed the nine concerts last year,” said Alexander Hess from the project office for events in Kaiserslautern.
In cooperation with the Kaiserslautern Carnival Association, the city offers a special event July 24. It starts 7 p.m. July 23 with musical performances. At 10 p.m., the Schwanenweiher (duck’s pond) will be turned into a “sea of lights.”
The fest continues at 11 a.m. July 24 with an entertaining program and children’s activities until 9 p.m.
A bistro offers snacks and drinks during all concerts. The Volkspark is located at the corner of Entersweiler Strasse and Donnersbergstrasse, next to the public swimming pool, Warmfreibad.
