The Association for the Advancement of German-French Partnership will sponsor its 21st annual Easter market from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Niederkirchen’s Westpfalzhalle. Volunteers helped to decorate the community hall with colorful flowers and Easter decorations to lure a lot of visitors from all over.
“We want to offer our visitors a special and unique market atmosphere,” said the association’s executive committee member Jürgen Feind. “Numerous exhibitors will display their handcrafted art items, articles of daily use and Easter decorations.”
Artists will offer handmade wooden items, floristic Easter items, baskets, ceramics, jewelry, glass products, tatting and turning works, clay objects for the house and the garden, brooms, brushes, natural soap, bird houses and accessories for the house.
“Like each year, we’ll offer French culinary specialties and selected wines from Germany and France,” said Jürgen Kupfer, chef in charge of the event. “We also serve homemade cakes and coffee.”
Children can participate in a children’s raffle and a painting contest.
Admission fee is €1. Children under 14 are admitted free.
“The diversified exhibition of Easter items is worth a visit and I’m sure that every visitor will find something,” Feind said.
Niederkirchen is located north of Otterberg, past Schallodenbach.
