Traditionally, an Easter market takes place two weeks prior to Easter in Niederkirchen’s community hall, Westpfalzhalle. The Association for the Advancement of German-French Partnership will sponsor its 23rd annual Easter market 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
“We are looking forward to spring and our guests will find inspiration for Easter in the manifold offer of art and craft items in Westpfalzhalle,” said the association’s executive committee member Juergen Feind. “Volunteers helped to decorate the community hall with colorful flowers and Easter decorations to lure a lot of visitors from all over.”
Numerous exhibitors will display their handcrafted art items, articles of daily use and Easter decorations. They will offer handmade wooden items, steel objects, Easter floristic, baskets, ceramics, jewelry, glass products, tatting and turning works, clay objects for the house and the garden, brooms, brushes, natural soap, and accessories for the house.
“Like each year, we’ll offer French culinary specialties and selected wines from Germany and France,” said Juergen Kupfer, chef in charge of the event. “We also serve homemade cakes and coffee.”
Children can participate in a children’s raffle and a paining contest.
The group Trio Cum Laute will provide the musical entertainment with historical music and traditional folk songs.
“The Easter market is a good opportunity to make a family trip to Niederkirchen. We are sure every visitor will find a neat object,” said Feind.
Admission fee is €1. Children under 14 are admitted free.
Niederkirchen is located north of Otterberg, past Schallodenbach.
