Fairy Tales at your Library
On April 28, celebrate all things fairy tales and magical creatures with a puppet story time, crafts, and more. Everyone is encouraged to dress up. All ages are welcome to attend. No admission fee. Knitting Classes
Children ages 9 and older are invited to learn the craft of knitting. Children may take classes solo or accompanied by parents. Classes are progressive from beginner to easy, intermediate, and experienced. Learn various stitches, how to read a pattern, binding, seaming, fun historical facts about knitting, and so much more. Classes are offered monthly. All knitting supplies will be provided. Students only need to show up with their desire to learn. Our instructor has 15 years experience in the fiber arts and is a certified knitting instructor through the Craft Yarn Council. Musical Together and Caterpillar Music Classes
Skies Unlimited is now offering a fun way to introduce your little one to music through specially created programs called Caterpillar Music classes and Music Together classes! Caterpillar Music classes for young children ages 2-3 offer a unique introduction to music with exciting themes, colorful instruments and amazing puppets. Music Together is a rich music and movement program for children age 4-6 that develops not only music skills, but also skills essential for a well-rounded education. Music develops the child’s mind, body and spirit simultaneously. Musical Theatre Dance Classes
Do you love the show-stopping, toe-tapping numbers in a musical? Do you love to express yourself through stories and dance? Then Musical Theatre Dance is for you! SKIESUnlimited offers lessons to youth, ages 5-18. The first half of class focuses on a good warm-up and jazz technique, and the second half teaches a routine in the style of musical theatre from your favorite songs and shows. Celebrate Read Across America
On March 3, join the Library and CYS in celebrating Read Across America. This fun, family-friendly event will include a “Horton Hears a Who” puppet show, storytime, make and take activities, face paint and more from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No entry fee. Engineering Classes
Children will be introduced to the fundamentals of engineering. Students will have an opportunity to build electrical engines, working draw-bridges, fully functioning cranes and basic gear boxes. Students will also be introduced to engineering concepts using pneumatic principles and equipment. Worksheets will be handed out so that children can expand their understanding of learned concepts outside of the classroom.
