English garbage guide helps newcomers separate, dispose of trash in Germany

Kaiserslautern’s waste management and city cleaning company ASK recently published the “Garbage Guide of the City of Kaiserslautern” in English. The 48-page guide will provide American citizens with information regarding waste management in a way that is clearly represented and easy to understand.

“We developed the information brochure especially for English-speaking citizens living in the city areas,” said Klaus Gebhardt, ASK chief. “It mainly is supposed to help newcomers from the states to learn about the proper handling of household trash.”

The brochure also gives tips as to how to separate trash the right way, how to dispose of trash, and it lists important points of contact.

The garbage guide is available in the Kaiserslautern Rathaus (city hall), the Technical Works on Burgstrasse 11, and in the German-American Community Office on Lauterstrasse 2.
