One of the challenges DoDDs athletes face while stationed overseas is the opportunity for scouts to view and critique their talent.

This year, the 2008 DoDDs European Basketball Championships received a special visit broadening that opportunity for some of DoDDs finest athletes. While the student-athletes from across Europe displayed their athletic abilities and ball handling skills, Antonio Williams of ESPN scouted the young men and women for a special edition article, highlighting the athletes and their often challenging obstacles faced with living overseas.

Prior to moving to NBA scouting, Mr. Williams’ background includes working in the NBA League Office and scouting for the Boston Red Sox.

He is currently a basketball analyst and scout for ESPN and also has his own scouting service, which helps provide exposure for under-scouted players. Mr. William’s three-part series on the DoDDs European Championship is available on ESPN’s Web site.

DoDDs athletes interested in Mr. Williams’ scouting service can go to http://
