The traditional Ramstein Farmers Market will take place Sunday, Oct. 7, in the town center of Ramstein. It features approx. 70 exhibitors and alures thousands of visitors each year. In 2018 the market is taking place for the 22nd time already. The town center will be blocked for all motorized traffic from 12 p.m. on Saturday. Market hours are 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday. The official opening of the market by Ramstein mayor Ralf Hechler will take place at the Congress Center Ramstein at 10.30 a.m. Afterwards a church service will be held at the same location. Approximately 50 vendors from the local area offer harvest-fresh products such as apples, pumpkins and sweet corn. Also a large choice of meat and sausage products, handmade cheese, liquors, bread, vinegars, oils, honey, coffee, fresh milk, juices and much more is available. Craftsmanship, decoration items, gift articles etc. are presented. Visitors can watch presentations of art knitting. Animals like hens, rabbits, donkeys, goats and sheep shown throughout the market square awake the children’s interest. The kids’ program includes face painting, pumpkin carving, milking, tractor parcour, sensory parcour and a wheel of fortune. Children aged 6 to 11 years can also register for cooking classes for healthy food at the cooking bus. Three cooking classes will be offered throughout the market hours from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.; 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. To participate at the cooking class please register with the Ramstein Youth Office by calling 06371/466742. In the downstairs area of the Congress Center Ramstein you can take a rest or get a big paper bag for your purchases. It is also possible to have your shopping bag stored here and pick it up again at the end of your visit. The scent of hearty soups, stir-fried dishes or bratwurst invites guests to stay and enjoy local specialties. Ramstein stores are open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Musical entertainment is provided as well. The city of Ramstein as well as local vendors and exhibitors are looking forward to welcome you!

For the first time the market will be the occasion for the Stefan-Morsch-Foundation to carry out a typing campaign. From noon to 5 p.m. healthy adults aged between 18 and 40 years can register as potential donors for stem cell transplantation in the entrance area of Congress Center Ramstein. You can give a saliva sample and that way possibly help a person suffering from leukemia. Take the chance to save other people’s lives and get registered as a stem cell donor with the Stefan-Morsch-Foundation!
