The fifth North Palatinate Farmers Market will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in Schneckenhausen. Regional farmers and vendors will present high-quality items at about 50 stands. The event will also feature a tractor display and thresher demonstration.
The market is known for its fresh regional products such as honey, jelly, cheese, fish, bread, pumpkins, liquors and juices. Local hunters will offer anything concerning game as well as a herbal garden.
Vendors will present their merchandise such as jewelry, pottery, wooden items and wool.
Besides an old tractor, historical agricultural equipment will also be on display.
For the children, there will be a petting zoo with ponies, chickens, ducks and rabbits. Children can also enjoy and participate in games.
Farmers and vendors will offer their culinary specialties and wines, and local women will serve homemade cakes in the Buergerhaus. The wine stand will give visitors a chance to taste the “Bizzler,” the first new wine of the year, which tastes more like grape juice and contains less alcohol.
