Members of the KMC participated in Fire Prevention Week Oct. 6 to 11. Sparky the fire dog and KMC firefighters visited Department of Defense Dependents Schools elementary schools to teach this year’s theme of preventing kitchen fires. Participants were given home fire-prevention checklists and other materials on how to check fire extinguishers and make escape plans. Children were able to take tours of the Vogelweh Fire Station and different fire trucks and see what firefighters do daily.
