Maintaining full uniform inventory
Regardless of whether they get lost, become unserviceable, or no longer fit, active duty Air Force personnel are expected to maintain a full inventory of uniform items. AFI 36-3014, Clothing Allowances for Air Force Personnel, Attachment 2 contains tables listing all initial issue uniform items. Paragraph 2.4 explains clothing replacement allowances that are paid to enlisted members. The basic clothing allowance is payable to members under three years time in service, while the standard rate is paid after that. The allowances are payable in the anniversary month of enlistment and are intended to be used to replace initial issue items.
