Gore-Tex guidelines
As we head into the rainy season, it may be a good time to discuss the
proper wear of the Gore-Tex parka and/or pants. Enlisted personnel wear
slide-on subdued grade insignia; officers wear slide-on or pin-on
subdued grade insignia. Individuals may wear the Gore-Tex parka and
pants while performing duties in inclement weather. Parka may be worn
without the Gore-Tex pants, however Gore-Tex pants must be worn with
parka. Gore-Tex liner will not be worn as an outer garment.
Gore-Tex parka and pants are authorized for wear with the flight dress
uniform while performing ground duties. Individuals may wear the
Gore-Tex parka and pants while performing duties in inclement weather.
Rules concerning wear of the Gore-Tex pants are the same as above.
Gore-Tex is not authorized for wear in flight by aircrew members.
