Friendship club starts second semester of German classes

The German-American Friendship Association Siegelbach starts the second semester 2006 of German classes in September.

“For people who are new in Germany, this is a good start,” said GAFAS vice-president Anne Smith. “By learning the German language, friends for a lifetime can be made.”

Beginner and continuing classes are offered. All German classes take place at the High School in Siegelbach, on Finkenstrasse.

They meet as follows:
Intensive courses (two nights per week)

German for beginners:
6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; Sept. 6 to Dec. 18

Continuing German:
8 to 9:30 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays; Sept. 6 to Dec. 18
Standard courses (one night per week)

German for beginners:
6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays; Sept. 7 to Dec. 14
8 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays; Sept. 7 to Dec. 14
7 to 9 p.m. Fridays; Sept. 8 to Dec. 15
Due to Friday holidays, the classes meet for 12 120-minute sessions.
Cost for intensive classes is €130.

Continuing German:
6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays; Sept. 5 to Dec. 12
8 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays; Sept. 5 to Dec. 12

Cost for standard classes meeting for 15 90-minute session is €65. Books cost about an additional €30.

Besides language classes, the club offers cultural, educational and leisure programs.
