The German American Friendship Association Siegelbach starts beginners’,continuing and advanced German classes in September.
Registration will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Hauptschule (German high school) in Siegelbach, Am Waeldchen. Course fee is €70 for 15 class sessions (90 minutes each).
The classes fill up very quickly and are kept small (only 15 people in a beginner class), so register early. Books can be purchased at registration or the first night of class. The textbook for all of the classes is Themen Aktuell. The textbook and the workbook together cost approximately €30.
• Beginner classes – 6:30 to 8 p.m. or 8 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays (Sept. 4 to Dec. 11)
• Continuing classes – 8 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays (Sept. 2 to Dec. 9).
• Advanced lessons – 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays (Sept. 2 to Dec. 9).
Note: Classes on Nov. 13 (Veterans Day) and Nov. 27 (Thanksgiving Day) will be made up on other days or added at the end of the course.
The classes cover conversational German including vocabulary and sentence structure. The instructor also provides useful information on German customs, everyday life situations, places to go and possibly takes a trip to Kaiserslautern with the students to show them interesting things.
