The 34th German Wine Street adventure day will take place 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, with the official opening taking place in Edenkoben at 10 a.m. The event is known as the longest wine festival in the Palatinate and is probably the longest in the world. This year’s motto is Freunde der Pfalz, “Friends of the Palatinate.”
For more than 80 kilometers, the oldest wine tourism route will be closed for motorists and only open for bicyclists, skaters and hikers. Several thousand visitors take advantage of this opportunity. From Bockenheim in the north to Schweigen-Rechtenbach in the south, 30 cities are participating in the event.

The municipalities will offer a colorful entertainment program with many attractions, including music, sports and games for young and old, singles and families, who will find many opportunities to experience an unforgettable summer day. Palatine wines and sparkling wine will be served and local specialties are offered to the visitors.

Interested runners can participate in a 10-kilometer round course starting at 10 a.m. in Kirchheim, sponsored by the Pfalz Sports Association. For visitors who would enjoy a more relaxed Sunday, they get to travel the “Erlebnistagsbaehnle,” adventure day train, circling between Bockenheim and Kirchheim.
The organizers are asking all cyclists, skaters and pedestrians for special mutual consideration. Public transportation is recommended to arrive at the wine road.
