Honoring our best on Veterans Day

On this Veterans Day, please join me in thanking and honoring every Airman, Soldier, Sailor and Marine who has served our great nation.

On Veterans Day, we honor all who have served in the military and thank them for their service and sacrifice. We remember the courage it takes to defend honor, duty, and our country. We remember the achievements of our heroes, their courage and their dedication, and we say thank you for their sacrifice.

Each of you has come from a different walk of life. But as a veteran, and as a fellow Airman in the Mighty 86th, you share the same fundamental qualities needed to serve a cause larger than your own: courage, determination, selflessness, pride, dedication to duty and integrity.

I thank you for the hard work you display each and every day and for the sacrifices you have made in defending our country. I thank your families, for making your service possible and for providing the strength back home we all need to protect the freedoms we cherish.
