When you pull up to the gate for entry, does the guard’s handheld machine emit an approving ding or a contradictory bleep? If it’s the latter, then you probably need to register with the Installation Access Control System.
All Department of Defense ID cardholders assigned to U.S. Air Forces in Europe installations in Germany and installation-pass applicants must register in IACS. Common Access Card holders who are TDY or visiting must be registered if their stay exceeds 30 days.
For periods less than 30 days, DOD IDs accompanied with official orders may be used for installation entry without IACS registration. This policy applies to all military, civilian employees and dependents.
The average time to register an ID card in IACS is approximately three to five minutes. Delays can be caused by personnel not having the proper information readily available (i.e. organization, duty phone, etc.).
Personnel may register in IACS at the following locations:
• Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3245, Room 101, (closed for lunch daily), 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily; closes 4 p.m. Thursday
• Pulaski Barracks, Bldg 2974, 1st Floor, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday, closes noon Friday
• Ramstein Visitor Control Center (West Gate), 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday
• Ramstein IACS Office, Bldg. 2111, Room 138, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday
• Ramstein Pass & Registration Office, Bldg. 2111, Room 140, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday
• Ramstein Bldg. 2402, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday through April
DOD ID cardholders must register no later than April 15. Personnel not registered by this date will be turned away at the installation gates and directed to the nearest visitor control center where they must register.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany family members under the age of 18. Military personnel and their family members will need to have ID cards with them.
Registration for NATO personnel and their family members will only be conducted at the Pass and Registration office in Bldg. 2111. For any questions relating to the IACS, please contact the aforementioned issuing facilities.
