The 44th Annual Ramstein Welfare Bazaar, produced by the Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club and sponsored by the 435th Services Squadron, will take place Sept. 18 to 21 in Ramstein’s Hangar 1 and 2.

welfare grants and charitable donations managed by the ROSC Welfare Committee.”
Last year, $115,400 was awarded to scholarship recipients, $85,566 went to schools, $79,571 to community programs and $33,956 to various base organizations and programs. Youth, sports and scout programs also benefited.
“The bazaar offers shoppers an unsurpassed experience – wares from around the world, all in one place,” said Lynn Silvey, ROSC bazaar co-chair. “This annual event has grown into one of the largest military bazaars in Europe.”
More than 130 vendors from various countries will present their merchandise such as pottery, oil paintings, mirrors, linens, toys, candies, cheeses, candles, jewelry, clothes, furniture and antiques. Last year, more than 29,000 shoppers visited the bazaar.
The bazaar will also feature a food court and entertainment stage. More than 20 food booths will be selling all kinds of culinary specialties, and various groups, acts and performances will entertain shoppers. The following is a schedule of performances:
• Sept. 18: 1 p.m., Kaiserslautern High School Jazz Band; 2 p.m., Ramstein High School Royal Chorus; 4 p.m., Ramstein High School Cheerleaders; 6 p.m., Life Teen Band; and 7 p.m., Rockit Fist Teen Band

“Last year we had 1,200 volunteers help us – active duty and civilians,” said Kathy Bailey, ROSC president. “It’s a community event that we could not accomplish without the strength of our volunteers.”
Bazaar hours are noon to 8 p.m. Sept. 18; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 19 and 20; and
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21. Sept. 18 and 19 are considered stroller-friendly days. A Kinder Korner in the Red Cross Tent will provide mothers and fathers a place to take care of infants and toddlers. No pets are allowed on the bazaar grounds.
