The Jawbone Flight Kitchen is now serving hot meals four times a day, Monday through Friday.
As of Feb. 4, following Ramstein’s dining facility closure, the flight kitchen began serving hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner, in addition to their midnight meal and box meal options.
There are still meal cardholders who work on Ramstein and the 786th Force Support Squadron ensuring those individuals have hot meals available to them.
“The Jawbone is open to all customers, but our main focus is meal cardmembers,” said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Kyle Todd, 786th Force Support Squadron Jawbone Flight Kitchen noncommissioned officer in charge. “Cash paying customers are never turned away.”
The flight kitchen accepts meal cards and U.S. dollars only. Hot meal items are sold a la carte, but a full meal with chicken, a vegetable, and a starch can cost on average around $5 said Todd.
Hot meals are only available during certain hours, however, anyone can pick up a box meal any time, day or night, for only $4.30 for meal cardholders, or $5.65 for cash customers. A box meal includes a sandwich, chips, snack item, water and a choice of soda, juice, or Gatorade packet. There are also two breakfast options available.
For those looking to try something different, something more “homemade” and maybe even something a bit healthier, stop by the Jawbone Flight Kitchen in building 3332, next to Hangar 5, during their hot meal serving times.
