Iconic game show host Alex Trebek, along with the “Jeopardy!” clue crew, visited Ramstein Oct. 11 to support the United Service Organizations and Armed Forces in Europe as a part of their search for military members to participate in “Jeopardy’s!” Salute to the Military week next year.

While here, Trebek signed autographs, met with fans and toured the KMC.
A “Jeopardy!” game was also held for military members and dependents just for fun at the Ramstein Officers’ Club.

In order to be a contestant on “Jeopardy!” one must complete a preliminary test of 10 questions. After passing the test, participants must take a larger test of 50 questions out of 50 different categories.

“I have told people in the past, and it’s really true, that getting through that test is tougher than doing well on the program. We have 12 rounds of categories in the first two rounds of play, but in this test we have 50 different categories represented so it’s quite an ordeal,” Trebek said.
Trebek was given the USO Bob Hope Entertainment Award in 1998 for his commitment to U.S. Armed Forces service members.
