On Feb. 28, over 50 students in grades kindergarten through ninth grade faced-off in the Kaiserslautern Elementary School’s gymnasium for the district’s second annual winter chess tournament. The daylong tournament ran from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the top two players in each of the nine teams receiving trophies.
Kaiserslautern District Schools compete again May 30 for the end-of-year tournament. All interested chess players in kindergarten through 12th grade, should contact Jack Woodfork at jack.woodfork@eu.dodea.edu.
