Sports Karate students hold no punches October 17, 2013 Photos by Airman 1st Class Holly Mansfield Karate Tech class instructor Richard Vasquez quizzes students to evaluate their knowledge of martial arts Oct. 8 on Vogelweh. The Karate Tech class is offered to KMC members of all ages to learn self-defense. The instructor trains students not only to compete in martial arts competitions, but to strengthen the body and soul. Using techniques created more than 1,400 years ago, students learn to improve self-discipline and to defend themselves if needed. Class instructors provide instructions on using a variety of techniques from several martial art disciplines. Classes are held at the Vogelweh and Ramstein community centers for students with all levels of karate experience.
