The Kingfish competed against teams from Brussels, NATO and SHAPE.
The day’s competition started with more than 200 swimmers and parents on their feet, cheering for their home team during the medley relay event.

“Going into the meet I was anticipating winning only three or four of the eight relay events,” said Kingfish Coach Bob Clinton. “The medley relays got us off to an outstanding start and that was carried through the entire meet.”

The entire team put forth an impressive effort during the competition with many swimmers achieving personal best times in individual events. Swimmers achieving three personal bests were Jacob Bishop, Sophia Bishop, Blake Davis, Jordan DeGraaf, Elizabeth Doe, Erika Eifler, Michael Fischer, Sarah Fischer, Emily Gage, Taylor Glass, Kevin Tarnowski and Stephen Tarnowski. High-point swimmers placing first in all three individual events were Madeline Bishop, Blake Davis, Olivia Grazak, Drew Thomas, Lilly Thomas and Emma Thomas. The team had a total 768 points to win the division title. SHAPE, NATO and Brussels placed second, third and fourth.

The team’s qualified swimmers will next compete in the European Forces Swim League Championship Meet held in Berlin Feb.16 and 17. The Kingfish will compete against the best swimmers from the 18 teams which make up the EFSL’s four divisions. (Courtesy of the Kaiserslautern Kingfish Swim Team)
