Lake fest features live music around Ohmbachsee

The 32nd lake fest at Lake Ohmbachsee will take place today to Sunday, July 15 to 17. For three days, the lake will turn into a big natural stage with lights, music and shows. Bands of various styles will entertain visitors on three stages put up around Ohmbachsee.

Hours are 6 p.m. today to 2 a.m. Saturday, noon Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.

Tapping of the first keg of beer will be at 7:30 p.m. today. The bands Frontal Pur, Purple Haze and saftWerk will perform until the next morning.

Saturday, musical performances will begin at 4 p.m. with the bands Dressinger, The Watching and MEP Live. Later the audience can listen to Die Konsorten, Fused and Firma Holunder XXL.

Sunday activities will begin with an early morning beer (Fruehschoppen) and musicians at 11 a.m. on the stage of Homburg Stadtwerke. Other bands performing Sunday will be Cha Lounge, Da Vinci, Complete, Fade Out and Six and the City.

Saturday’s highlight will be a torch light ride in about 20 boats across the lake at dark to be followed by a lake illumination and fireworks display with music at 11 p.m.

Sunday will be family day with a children’s program.

A fireworks display is scheduled for 11 p.m. to close out the lake fest.

Stands and booths will serve regional and international food and drinking specialties.

Organizers want to let visitors know that they cannot bring their own food and beverages. After 6 p.m. today and Saturday, dogs are not allowed.

Tickets cost €7 on Friday
and Saturday, and €5 on Sun-day. The three-day ticket is €10. Omhbach lake is northwest of Bruchmuehlbach-Miesau, between Elschbach and Schoe-nenberg-Kuebelberg. With a surface of 15 hectares, it’s the biggest lake in the Westpfalz area. There is a campground and the possibility to fish, sail, surf and rent little boats. For more information, visit
