Landstuhl holds “Sickingen Maimarkt,” or May carnival, Saturday through Tuesday.
***image1***Traditionally, the Landstuhl Brass Orchestra provides the opening music of the event at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Landstuhl’s Mayor Klaus Grumer then holds the opening speech and welcomes all visitors at 2 p.m.
The carnival in front of Stadthalle and on Neuer Markt features a diversified program from noon to 11 p.m. daily and includes several rides and vendors booths. Culinary specialties will also be offered.
Sunday, stores are open from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, families can enjoy special offers and reduced prices on rides until 7 p.m.
Customarily, Maimarkt concludes with a fireworks display at Nanstein Castle at 10 p.m. Tuesday.
