Landstuhl Elementary/Middle School offered after-school flu
vaccinations Wednesday in the school cafeteria.

The goal of the program was to help raise flu vaccination rates in order to help prevent students and faculty from getting and spreading the flu.
According to statistics, the flu affects between 5 and 20 percent of the U.S. population annually and can be quite serious in children.

Children are also the main source of spreading the flu to other
schoolchildren and to family members.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the
single best way to help prevent the flu is to get a flu vaccination each year.
