Lifelong Learning Resource Center offers educational

Don’t you hate when you want to prepare for a test but don’t know where to find the tools? Or when you need assistance creating a resume but don’t know who to contact?

The Department of Defense created the Lifelong Learning Resource Center to help users advance their careers, their education and their skills for future success, said Melinda Mosley, U.S. Air Forces in Europe librarian.

“The Lifelong Learning Resource Center was launched this spring by the DOD Library program and was funded by the military community and family policy office,” said Ms. Mosley. “The DOD realized huge cost savings were possible if the services joined together to offer educational and recreational online resources.”

The program is intended for just about everyone with tools available to help people at different stages of their career.

Military personnel can find the military success tools very helpful by having access to study materials and practice tests for officer training and military entrance exams, said Ms. Mosley.

Students are able to access practice college entry tests and choose from 29 online College-Level Examination Program practice tests. There are also 17 Advanced Placement subject practice tests and a section on creating a resume to help with getting into college.

There are many things offered to parents, such as help on how to pay for college and what a high school student should be doing to get ready for college.

“Also, for everyone looking for that perfect job, there are articles on how to find a career that fits a specific personality,” said Ms. Mosley.

“Again, everyone can use these resources – just complete a simple one-time registration, an online form that requires a self-created username and password, and you are in and have free access to everything on the site,” said Ms. Mosley.

Relieving some frustration dealing with difficult education topics everyone comes to face in life is what the DOD has tried to accomplish.
