***image1***Kaiserslautern sponsors its sixth “Long Night of Culture” the night from Saturday to Sunday. Artists and partnering institutions in charge of the annual cultural summer program in Rheinland-Pfalz will present more than 50 diversified cultural acts.

The Fruchthalle, Pfalztheater, Pfalzgalerie museum, art galleries, Union studio for film arts, Japanese Garden, Youth Center, Theodor-Zink-Museum, Stiftskirche, St. Martinskirche and the Technical University will provide individual programs.

Artist Ingo Bracke will put the Fruchthalle into the right light with a special installation. A disc jockey lounge with various music styles will be set up on the bottom floor. On the second floor, in the concert hall, the bands The Loungists and Sushi Foundation will perform, and soloists will present a classical program combined with experimental music. Dancers will present ballet, tango, salsa and oriental dances. On the third floor, in the Roter Saal (red room), there will be a live music disco where visitors can join salsa dancing and, toward the end, they can chill out with soft music.

The Pfalztheater will conduct a public rehearsal with its orchestra and the Opera Swing Quartet at 7 p.m., to be followed by Russian artists presenting folk music at 9:30 p.m.

The Rittersberg Big Band will offer an entertaining program including swing, Latin and rock music from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Pfalzgalerie museum.

At Theodor-Zink-Museum, magician Tobias will present his skills; Michael Geib will perform songs from the Pfalz, Saarland and Lorraine; and the band BCO will play jazz from the 1920s to the 1940s until midnight.

The Youth Center across from the Theodor-Zink-Museum will present live music with Freudenband at 8 p.m.

Church concerts are played at 8, 9 and 10 p.m. in St. Martinskirche. Admission is free.

The Japanese Garden will be illuminated. In the historic tea house, there will be sound meditations. After 7 p.m., admission is free.

Admission fee for most places is €7 for adults and €5 for students. Visitors will get a wristband, which will allow them to enter all facilities that charge a fee.
