LRMC, Army clinics in Europe open USAREUR training holidays

by Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Public Affairs

Landstuhl Regional Medi-cal Center and LRMC clinics throughout Europe are open during U.S. Army Europe training holidays to help service members keep up on their medical and dental readiness needs.

All Army health and dental facilities in Kaisers-lau-tern, Baumholder, Wies-baden, Brussels, SHAPE and Vicenza will be open for appointments for Soldiers and family members during train-ing holidays but will be closed during federal holidays.

“Everyone is busy during the normal duty day, but training holidays are great opportunities to catch up on annual exams and ensure you’re ready to deploy if called upon,” said LRMC Commander Col. Timothy Hudson.

Every Soldier is personally responsible for their medical and dental readiness, which you can easily check through your Army Knowledge Online account under the My Medical section. If they are anything other than green, they need to be seen.

Being medically ready is critical for a deployable Soldier, as Soldiers must be ready to fight and win today’s wars as part of globally integrated operations. All Soldiers are assigned a Medical Readiness Classi-fication MRC of one to four. The class of MRC four consists of Soldiers whose medical and dental status is unknown. These Soldiers are therefore nondeployable. Many Soldiers marked MRC four are simply overdue for an annual dental exam or physical health assessment, both of which can now be completed during a USAREUR training holiday.

Soldiers and all eligible beneficiaries, military family members, retirees and their families, and federal employees, can take advantage of appointments during USAREUR training holidays.

To schedule an appointment, simply call your clinic’s appointment line during regular business hours or go online at your convenience, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to www.TRICAREonline.com to choose from many open appointments in your primary care clinic.
