A Retiree Health Fair is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Learning Center, Bldg. 3718, near the AAFES gas station.
Booths will be manned to provide retirees and senior beneficiaries with information and services include: a general health check, pneumonia immunizations, vision screenings, blood pressure checks, a review of retiree benefits and entitlements, legal assistance with wills and powers of attorney, disposal of old medications, the donation of old eyeglasses, a pharmacist review of medications, behavioral health, nutrition, physical therapy, USO, Red Cross, TRICARE and dental care service availability.
The health fair also is an opportunity to allow healthcare representatives to evaluate the needs of the retiree population and services most requested by those beneficiaries.
When it comes to retiree issues, information is power, and an opportunity to have so many subject matter experts in one location is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed, said Finnie Richardson, an assistant retirements services officer at Kleber Kaserne.
“These health fairs are very, very helpful for retirees and for the widows and family members of retirees. People who don’t attend them are losing out on an excellent opportunity to keep up with the most current changes,” said Mr. Richardson.
