The Enhanced Access Clinic officially opens today at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center to better serve TRICARE Prime and TRICARE Plus beneficiaries unable to be seen on any given duty day by their Primary Care Manager or Team. This additional primary care capacity also will provide significant access to Space-Available patients in the greater KMC area.
The Enhanced Access Clinic is located in Ward 1F near the Family Health Clinic and is staffed by a doctor, two nurse practitioners and six licensed practical nurses. The clinic began seeing patients on a trial basis in early March and is now ready for its official opening, said Col. (Dr.) Robert Fischer, Deputy Commander for Clinical Services.
“We are very excited to provide continuous and thoroughly reliable access to primary care for our enrolled beneficiaries while at the same time extending primary care resources to our Space-Available population,” Fischer said.
The Enhanced Access Clinic will offer primary care to Space-A patients in the following Medical Service Account/Pay Patient categories:
• Department of the Air Force, Army and Navy civilians
• Department of Defense Dependents Schools employees
• Non-Appropriated Fund employees
• U.S. contract employees
• Authorized foreign military members and civilians
• Command sponsored family members of any of the above
Primary care services offered at the clinic include:
• Routine wellness exams
• Health promotion
• Disease prevention
• Health maintenance
• Counseling
• Patient education
• Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses
• Referrals for access to specialty consultation
To access the Enhanced Access Clinic, eligible Space-A patients must first visit the Admissions & Disposition Office at the LRMC Patient Administration Department to register as a patient. You should bring your DOD ID Card and insurance information with you. The Admissions & Disposition Office is located in the main hospital, Bldg. 3766, Room 15B103. For more information, call 590-5202 or 06371-9464-5202. The office is open 24/7.
Once registered, the next step is to call the LRMC call center appointment line at 590-5762 or 06371-9464-5762 and tell them you are calling for an appointment with the Enhanced Access Clinic. Every effort will then be made to provide a primary care appointment.
