The Women’s Care Center at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center began transferring women’s health services to Primary Care and the LRMC OB/GYN clinic in June. The Women’s Care Center will close Monday.
In an effort to sustain continuity for patients, beneficiaries currently enrolled to a primary care manager at an Army or Air Force Military Treatment Facility should direct any women’s health issues or concerns to their Primary Care Clinic, including their annual health exams, birth control counseling/needs or any OB/GYN referrals.
The Women’s Care Center is closing due to realignment of staff to primary and specialty clinics already devoted to the health and well-being of women.
Space-available patients currently being seen in the Women’s Care Center will need to develop a relationship with a primary care provider on the local economy. The local TRICARE Service Center can provide a listing of local host nation providers to patients who need assistance. A list of providers is also available online at www.tricare-overseas.com/providersearch/searchcontent.aspx.

Q: I am a Space-A patient. What are the advantages of being seen by a doctor on the local economy?
A: Establishing care with a primary care manager on the economy ensures the non-TRICARE eligible patient primary care access and continuity of care for them and their family while living in the KMC. Patients can contact the local TRICARE Service Center for assistance in locating an English speaking provider on the economy. In Germany, providers commonly ask for up-front payment before providing health care. Medical costs are reimbursable through the patient’s health insurance provider. U.S. civilian personnel are required by the government to have health insurance coverage when they arrive in Europe.
Q: I don’t speak German. How would I go about booking an appointment?
A: A comprehensive “Your Guide to Host Nation Health Care” is available for each Army military community. The guide provides practical information such as maps to host nation facilities, driving directions and specific information about each facility. The guide can be found on the LRMC public website home page at http://ermc.amedd.army.mil/landstuhl/index.cfm.
Q: What if I am enrolled to a male primary care manager and would like it changed to a female primary care manager?
A: In order to request a change to your PCM, visit your local TRICARE Service Center and speak with an enrollment specialist.
Q: I am due for a post-partum exam after having my baby at Landstuhl. How do I make an appointment?
A: The LRMC OB/GYN clinic will perform the post-partum appointment. These appointments can be scheduled with the clinic directly by calling 590-5839 or 06371-9464-5839.
