Lifestyle Man on the Street July 3, 2014 We asked: What is your favorite Independence Day memory? JAY ATEN“Probably last year. My brother does fireworks so he got his explosives license and now he did his own show. We got to watch a private fireworks show at a multimillion-dollar golf course. It was nice. We got to see the set up and everything. It was my girlfriend’s first time going to the United States.” TINA LOWE“A good one was Fort Polk. We went to Alligator Lake and they had paddle boats on the water. So, before you experienced the fireworks and all, you could go out on the lake and do paddleboat rides with the family. We had a lot of great family there. Not biological family, but a lot of church family. It made it really special. We all got together and had a cookout there on the lake, and that’s where the celebration was. That was wonderful.” KATIE JURNEY“Silverton, Colorado.” They have an awesome fireworks display and it’s out in the middle of nowhere. There is camping and whatnot. I do miss the American grandeur ’cause over here it’s kind of muted.” MARTA PACADA“Being able to celebrate my birthday on the Fourth of July because my birthday is the day before.” DONNA KUCKLICK“An activity at the base. It was just a small little base — Camp Zama, Japan — and we had an activity where we did fireworks and all the families came and had different races and activities that we did together as families.” « Previous × Next » Share Tweet
