Sister Act the Musical: When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she must go undercover and hide in the one place cops are sure she won’t be found: a convent! Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into both the church and the community, but manages to blow her cover in the process. Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story, Sister Act will leave you breathless. Don’t miss the chance to witness this sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship! Evening performance dates: Feb. 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. Sunday matinees offered Feb. 11, 18 and 25 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10-15 for adults and $7-12 for children and seniors. Tickets available at KMC Onstage, online through WebTrac and at the Kleber Java Cafe.
Inherit the Wind: Don’t miss KMC Onstage’s production of this timeless, science vs. religion story! The accused was a slight, frightened man who had deliberately broken the law. His trial was a Roman circus. The chief gladiators were two great legal giants of the century. Like two bull elephants locked in mortal combat, they bellowed and roared imprecations and abuse. The spectators sat uneasily in the sweltering heat with murder in their hearts, barely able to restrain themselves. At stake was the freedom of every American. This play is based on the evolution trials of the 1920s, but its central theme — the pursuit of intellectual freedom — is just as relevant today as it was 100 years ago. Evening performance dates: 7 p.m. March 23 to 24, and April 13, 14, 20 and 21; and 3 p.m. Sunday matinees March 25, and April 15 and 22. Tickets available at KMC Onstage, online through WebTrac and at the Kleber Java Cafe.
