» The Kaiserslautern Cancer Benefit Group will sponsor their first annual Black and Purple Gala at 6 p.m. Saturday at the culture center, Haus des Buergers, in Ramstein-Miesenbach. The highlight will be a silent auction of items ranging from kitchenware to baskets of wines. Children’s artworks will be on display under the theme “Cancer can’t take our love away.” There will be live entertainment, a DJ and Irish dance performances. » The Rheinland-Pfalz International Choir will present a concert at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Chatholic church in Queidersbach. Stephanie Benton will direct the choir for the last time before returning to the states. Dr. Justin Lewis, who also is a conductor of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band, will be the choir’s new director. Additionally, the choir is looking for male singers to join. » Mother’s Day brunch: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 8. The brunch will include a carving station with assorted meats, an omelet and waffle station and a delectable dessert buffet. In addition, moms will receive a special gift. Seating is limited; make reservations in advance. Tickets may be purchased online via WebTrac, from Armstrong’s Club between 5 and 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, or from any Java Cafe in the KMC.
