KMC OnStage Auditions: Contagious Comedies — An Evening of One Acts: On April 8 to 9 from 6 to 8 p.m., audition to be a part of the one-act shows that make KMC OnStage the Army’s most award-winning community theater program. This spring evening of one acts will focus on the lighter side of theater, with a line-up entirely comprised of knee-slapping, laugh-out-loud comedies. KMC OnStage Presents Freckleface Strawberry: Bring the whole family out to enjoy the musical that is based on the cherished New York Times best-selling book by Julianne Moore. With the help of her lovable classmates who range from everything from a talented ballerina, the class ditz, even the cute jock boy, Freckleface learns that everyone has their unique thing and that is what makes everyone special. Performances are scheduled for May 24, 25, 31 and June 1, 7, 8 at 7 p.m. May 26 and June 2, 9 at 1 p.m. All performances will he held at the KMC OnStage Theater on Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 2100. Mother’s Day Bazaar: Pick out something special for Mom at the Mother’s Day Bazaar! Held Apr. 15-18 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily. Family and MWR Community Expo: Military Spouse Appreciation: On May 10, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., spend your lunch hour with Family and MWR celebrating military spouses, the heart of our community! Meet representatives from Family and MWR programs and our community partners and learn about the programs and services available to you in our military community. Enjoy cake, giveaways, and several chances to win great prizes, including the grand prize of $1,000 in European Travel through Army Outdoor Recreation. Basic Car Maintenance Class: On April 10 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., learn basic car maintenance during this class at the Baumholder Auto Skills Center. Topics include checking fluids, changing oil and filter, changing air filter, proper tire pressure. The first participant to volunteer at registration time will get a free oil change (volunteer must bring his or her own oil and filter for the demonstration). This will be a free oil change performed by the owner under the instruction of the instructor and observed by the class. $10.00 per person. Maximum participation is ten. Please sign up early. Mother’s Day Balloon Flowers & Balloon Flower Bouquets: Balloon flowers and balloon flower bouquets can be ordered from the Arts & Crafts Center for a unique Mother’s Day gift. Choose a single flower or from a variety of balloon flower bouquets. Customers may pre-order balloons/balloon bouquets and have them delivered on Mother’s Day. Orders must be placed by May 7 for delivery. Deliveries will be made between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and can only be made to housing units on Smith Barracks and Wetzel Kaserne. Onesie Pajama Party at Tavern on the Rock: On April 13, come cozy and ready to party in your favorite onesie pajamas!
